Meet The Founder

Thanks for stopping by!  I’m Stephanie Choquette, founder of BrideStyle.  I’ve been in the bridal industry since 1997, and working with brides has always been a huge passion of mine. I was born in Charleston, SC – my dad was in the Navy and we moved around often, living in more than 20 cities before he retired. I met my husband in Atlanta, GA, and we eventually decided to set down roots in Texas.  We absolutely love it here, and we currently live in the beautiful hill country of Fredericksburg.

My husband Jay and I met on July 3, 2015 and got married on August 21, 2015 – just seven weeks from our first meeting! We’d planned to visit my family in Florida that August, but the trip was cancelled due to bad weather. Jay suggested we elope instead, and I loved the idea! We planned our wedding in just two days. On our first anniversary, we celebrated by renewing our vows in Cancun. We’ve been married for 7 wonderful years and counting.

Nowadays, Jay and I absolutely love spending time together and being around each other, no matter what we’re doing. He taught me to love country music, something I hadn’t learned to appreciate before we met. We love to dance together in our living room at night, or sit out by our fire pit and watch the sun set over the hill country skyline. We work on my family’s ranch together with my parents and our infamous gum-chewing donkey named Poncho.

My Experience

In 1997, I began working at The House of the Bride in Augusta, GA. I spent nearly a decade there, and this is where my passion for working with pieces from designers like Amsale, Anne Barge, and Vera Wang really began. Then, in 2006, I was offered an opportunity to move to Boca Raton and work for the bridal department at Saks Fifth Avenue. This led me to form relationships with many wonderful designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Amsale, Kenneth Pool, Reem Acra, Melissa Sweet, and Peter Langner. I continued to work with Vera Wang during my time at Saks as well.

In 2007, I was approached by Badgley Mischka to lead their wholesale department, an offer I happily accepted. During this time, I did my first trunk show with Badgley Mischka at Kleinfeld’s in New York City. In 2008, I joined the team at Joan Pillow Bridal in Atlanta, GA, moving away from wholesale to bridal work. After this, I worked with ready-to-wear designer Elie Tahari for six years.

Though I loved Atlanta, in 2015 my husband Jay and I moved to Dallas, TX, where I joined the wonderful team at Warren Barrón Bridal. During my years spent there, I worked with designers Monique Lhuillier, Mira Zwillinger, Romona Keveza, Reem Acra, Valentini by Mark Ingram, and Inbal Dror. In 2021, Jay and I decided to move to the hill country of Fredericksburg, TX to be closer to my family and help my parents on their ranch. I began offering my styling services through BrideStyle at this time, and I currently also work with Jimmy Choo in the bridal line of The Atelier at the New York Bridal market twice a year.
